Podcast "Leadership et Coaching Interculturel"
http://hrmeetup.org/thepodcastfactory-philippe-rosinski-fr/

Integrative Coaching Supervision, based on Philippe Rosinski’s applauded book “Global Coaching”, is a novel holistic approach that calls upon multiple and interconnected perspectives to facilitate the unleashing of human potential in search of performance, fulfillment and meaning. It helps coaches to work more effectively and more creatively with their coachees.

Integrative coaching supervision supports coaches on their developmental journey by operating from six perspectives: physical, managerial, psychological, political, cultural and spiritual – and it embraces the complexity paradigm: everything is connected.

Integrative coaching supervision serves to unfold the remarkable coach, whose expert knowledge of diverse coaching techniques never becomes a substitute for establishing authentic, fluid and caring relationships with coachees.

In Global Coaching Perspectives, January 2016 issue, I explain how to integrate nature and nurture in coaching. I also discuss how to overcome the “immunity to change” phenomenon by expanding one’s worldview through intercultural coaching and the use of the Cultural Orientations Framework assessment. See pages 37-44 of the magazine, which you can freely download here.

Global Coaching Perspectives is the Association for Coaching Global Magazine, a publication for new, developing and master coaches and for those who support people development in workplaces worldwide.

Abstract

How can we take into account both what relates to nature, the personality type we are born with, and what pertains to nurture, the characteristics we have acquired along the way?

In this article, I will use a case study based on an executive I have coached to illustrate how we can go about doing that. I will provide some context by sharing a few words about a dynamic
conception of culture, about the Cultural Orientations Framework (COF) assessment, as well as about Robert Kegan’s Immunity to Change concept.

As you will find out, the COF assessment can be used to uncover hidden and limiting cultural assumptions and to help coachees replace these with more effective versions.

I will explore the interplay between the psychological and cultural perspectives, suggesting how to leverage the combination in coaching, making the most of diversity in
personality as well as culture.

To this end, I will also refer to a recent research project conducted by OPP with over 1,000 respondents using the MBTI and the COF in a large international sample.

Unfolding the Remarkable Orthopedic Surgeon - How to unleash the quest for excellence and the sense of caring

In this article, co-written with Professor Emmanuel Thienpont, a leading orthopedic surgeon, we examine how Global Coaching can be applied in the medical field to unleash the quest for excellence and the sense of caring among surgeons.  The article has been published in
Acta Orthopaedica Belgica, the official journal of the Belgian Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (2015, N°4 (Vol. 81/4)). The journal is peer-reviewed. In the year 2012, 93% of the manuscripts submitted came from 45 countries other than Belgium, reflecting the international character of the journal.

WEX, Inc., a company based in the US and growing quickly internationally, has called upon Rosinski & Company to help design a tailored integrated leadership development curriculum based upon Philippe Rosinski’s books Global Coaching and Coaching Across Cultures, focusing on six interconnected perspectives (physical, managerial, psychological, political, cultural and spiritual).

The first programs have been aimed at senior executives, consisting in particular of a 5-day residential seminar followed by one year of one-to-one coaching for each participant (with certified executive coaches). Philippe Rosinski has been the lead facilitator in the initial programs, working in cooperation with Alison Soine-Norris (Director, Global Learning & Organization Development) and Katelyn Gendron (Leadership Development Program Manager), with the support from Melissa Smith (Chief Executive Officer) and Jenifer Rinehart (Senior Vice President, Human Resources).

This video includes testimonials from WEX’s participants during the seminars and here is what Alison Soine-Norris wrote about our collaboration:

WEX engaged Philippe Rosinski to develop the framework for our proprietary Leadership Development program.  While completing the extensive needs analysis, Philippe demonstrated a profound understanding of WEX’s business and leadership talent in both their current state and desired future state.  The resulting program has targeted WEX’s specific needs, and has resulted in positive reviews from all participants as well as measurable results on behalf of the business.  Partnering with Philippe included his co-facilitation on the first two cohorts.  His coaching style and willingness to work with participants individually over the course of the program only served to make it richer. WEX’s Integrated Leadership Development Program (the ILDP) is unique in that it builds leaders’ skills holistically.  This allows each participant to take away their own individual lessons while the cohorts of WEX leadership grow stronger and better prepared to lead WEX in a unified way.

Using Philippe’s books [Global Coaching and Coaching Across Cultures] as foundational material allows these cohorts to bridge cultural differences as WEX continues to expand globally.  The leadership framework also informs the development activity across level at WEX; employees, management, and executives alike contribute to WEX’s growth through a common approach and language that is unique to WEX.  The results have been consistently positive for both employees and their contributions at WEX.
